How is it that Russian spam finds my inbox? It's in the Cyrillic alphabet and everything. Poo on that. Have you seen reruns of 80's religious programming where they city Revalation and some kind of mention of a bear, and they swear that Russia is going to start the next world war? They need to edit their bible prophecies for the rapture-obsessed peeps of today. The rest of us can all play Tetris.

Someone's grave you should pay a visit to, should you get the chance, is Mr. Chicken He lost both of his legs, and his owner replaced them with plastic. He died protecting his fellow chickens from an unknown critter. His eternal resting place is in my hometown Jackson, Michigan.

Waaaaaaaaaaaaay back when, a long time ago, when people still rented VCR's ... my hometown had a Curtis Mathis video rental store in a stip mall called Paka Plaza. I was just remembering that place when it was the ONLY place you could go to rent a video - though I have no idea how much it cost, being a kid at the time, we never paid. The Faerie Tale Theatre series always comes to mind remembering that place - I even recall Robin Williams in an episode. I must have had a kid crush on him from my favorite film: Popeye of which I still have the album (which I got for my {possibly 4th} birthday :) ).

Maple flavoring terrifies me

Yeah, so I saw an ad in one of our papers which read "FRENCH TOAST & SAUSAGE BREAKFAST $2.50" But they don't tell you how much extra it costs to segregate the syrup from the savory breakfast meats.

Maple flavorng or maple syrup in the wrong hands turns my stomach.

There's a lady who contributes a weekly cooking article here for one of our papers. She has a knack for finding the most vile very old fashioned recipes. Here's highlights of her list of recipes from her "candy" early January edition:

• Coffee Fudge
• Bourbon Balls
• Candy Fruit Roll (((WHICH USED FIGS & RAISINS AS THE 'FRUIT' SOMEHOW)))
• Vanilla Cream Caramels
• Chocolate caramels
• Christmas Fudge ((WHICH SOMEHOW INCLUDED 1 1/2 CUPS OF NON-DAIRY CREAMER AS AN INGREDIENT))
• Black Walnut Caramels
• Pineapple Fudge
and if those didn't turn your stomach enough
DRUMROLL PLEASE:
• Maple Caramels

EW.

Last night I had a dream that Frank Black was playing at a theatre venue (much like the Vic), though exactly where/ when I don't have any idea. It was supposed to have been some kind of acoustic show but he needed a drummer, so he asked me. I don't know how to play the drums and told him so - he didn't seem to think this was a problem. So! We waited through the first band ... I remember I trying on clothes & looking for something appropriate to wear. (Weird- this reminds me another dream I was trying to figure out what to wear to my brother's weddng reception and my brother and adam were giving me fashion advice.) Anyhow - I think I put on a tank top & mini skirt & was finally ready to rock! (WINGING IT) Thanks for asking me to be your drummer Frank Black! See ya next tour.

Go away tour de france. Wimbledon too. I don't like some things a lot of people like. Don't get me started on the founding fathers. I'm werid.

I just realized it's Billy Corgan not Billy Corrigan like I have always thought it was. (Scary thing is, I remember first hearing about the s.p.'s album Gish in early high school so that's at least ten years I have had that name wrong.)

It's probably really hard to sing arias. Sitting here listening to a recording of Nessun Dorma voiced by Luciano Pavarotti, which is really beautiful by the way, you can clearly hear him burp at a pause in the song. For a drama queen like the Pav to allow the recording to be sold around the world, now that's dedication!
