It's Monday, but it's not.
The weather was suckin in Chicaggy for the holday weekend. Playoffs for dynamo start tomorrow. I have to go to the doctor this afternoon, and I don't want to go. I was never scared of doctors until I went to the dentist one day.
I must have been 18, and I was still going to the kiddie dentist. I think it was Dr. Pink. He took so long in cleaning my teeth that I thought he was going to let me go (I thought he forgot about my filing). Alas, no, he turned the nurse and said "gimmie a number 4" or something like that, and she turned around with the most evil syringe Ive ever seen. Imagine something from a japanimation movie. Big, metal, and scary. Well, normailly I would have been chilled out and braced myself for the shot, but something in the back of my head said "no", so I yelled "no" to the nurse and the doctor. Next thing i knew the nurse was laying on top of me to keep my arms down. I felt like a cat at the vet.

Crazy Wednesday
All my plans fell through yesterday, but I wound up haveing an awesome night. I wound up at Thurston's to see Nathan Payne. One of the many undiscovered talented people I am lucky enough to know (and Adam's brother).

M&P
The fam came for a visit this weekend. They were funny. I've never seen my dad drink martinis like he did. We went to the Matchbox and had a blast. Can you believe it? (it's true.) Their friend Mary came along too, I don't have a good picture of her, but I would include it if I had it. They went to all my usual hang-outs, the worlds collided. Yes, these two are the responsible parties for making me.

Anxiety Sucks
Anxiety sucks. I've been doing a million things at home, at work and inbetween. Being constantly busy one minute and having nothing to do the next. It's making me loony.

I started painting again, which is actually a big deal. I got so burned out at grad school, then I got diagnosed with a chronic disease, and it's been until now that squirrel girl and other projects are coming back around. Don't get me wrong, I love being busy, but when anxiety comes back, it's really sneaky and you feel like you're going cuckoo for cocoa puffs.

Happy Monday
I 'm still working to get the poll results out, behind as always. This weekend was a strange one. Took off work early on Friday and it was as if the planets were aligned. Friday:
First off, I woke up in the best of company- excellent. Next, I was minorly late for work, but no one seemed to care or notice. Then, I left work early to meet up with my really really pregnant sister and her family. I picked up Adam to give him a ride downtown, I was right on time, but wasnt' sure I would see my sis because our plans were so vague. Miracle of miracles: I found a METER on Chicago Ave in the afternoon rush hour. Amazing. Said goodbye to Adam, turned around and my sister was getting out of her cab. It was like buttah.

The dumb thing I did today
I often do silly things that no one sees. This morning it was when I forgot to eat breakfast, I went to the cafeteria at work. They had cream of wheat, yea! As I was adding butter on top, two dimes fell out of my hand and right into the bowl. They sank pretty fast since the cereal was watered down and the atomic weight of metal is significantly different to that of C of W.

I ate it. Then I took out the dimes.

I have a lot to wrie about reguarding the weekend, I drove for many hours up to the northern wilds of Michigan. One of my best friends, Mike Miller, got married at a state park. I was lucky enough to be one of the attendees, and photographer. I made some new friends and had a lot of fun.

Paper Fortune Teller
My sister was the only one I know that could unlock the secret of the folded paper oracle. Lisa found this link though her web obsession of interesting websites that aren't online to sell anything. There are a select few of these sites, and I'm lucky to work with someone else who appreciates them. The one she sent me at the beginning of the week was one of the best things I've ever seen on the web.

Mel & Me
Sunday I hung out with Adam on the set of a bigshot Hollywood film set. The movie is going to be called What Women Want. It was kinda neet to see everything, the big hulabaloo and all... But I couldn't help but feel that we all get gypped by the stuff that comes out of Hollywood. Everyone gasped as they recognized Mel Gibson from across the street. In the end, I realized I would rather watch Adam working to keep rollerbladers from rolling onto the set than Mel getting into a fake cab 27 times.

May Crowning
For some reason I was thinking about this today. I remember it being such a huge deal right around 4th grade(?) One girl at Queen of the Miraculous Medal Parish was chosen to crown the Virgin Mary with flowers at mass. Our class picked Cindy Spaulding. I think it was because her mom played the organ during church. Anyhow, last I heard, she was doing a lot of unholy things with boys...
